Welcome to Gulliver's Travel

Teri SimmonsHave a question? Email me at superagent@slogull.com After the birth of my daughter in 1980 a career change was in order as I wanted to be able to spend as much time as possible with her. I decided since I loved travel I would go back to school and in 1985 I became a travel agent. Shortly thereafter my husband was transferred to the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo (as a correctional officer not an inmate). I was very excited about living in a coastal community as I had loved going to the sunny beaches of southern California having lived most of my adult life in Cucamonga (yes there was such a place, now known as Rancho Cucamonga). We settled in Morro Bay, after my first summer here I realized this wasn't like the sunny beaches of southern California, fog and overcast skies was the norm for summer. Well 20 years later we are still here and we call this area home. I began my career with Gulliver's Travel at their University Office on the campus of Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo. Looking back to the 5 years I spent at that office before it closed was probably the best learning experience of my career. During those 5 years I developed a loyal clientele. After the campus office closure I worked at Gulliver's main office until I took a "holiday" in September 1995. Happily I returned to Gulliver's Travel in the spring of 1998 and in January 2001 I became a partner in the agency and today I couldn't be happier. Traveling is why we all get into this business and I do love to travel. My travels have taken me to Hawaii (my favorite), Tahiti, Fiji, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Johns, the Bahamas, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Antigua, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and St. Maarten. I've traveled to Europe - France, Spain and Italy and many places in the USA from Las Vegas to New York (where I was born) and Florida with many stops in between. My husband enjoys traveling the USA and Hawaii but when more exotic destinations call it's my daughter Rebecca, my gypsy, who loves to be my travel companion. She has managed to travel to many more places then I have, so I use her as a resource when a client has a question about a place I have not been to, and she has. A few years ago I lost my hearing, but that hasn't stopped me from still enjoying the things I love to do the most; like working and traveling. I still plan the best travel experiences for my clients; with the use of fax machines and emailing I'm available anytime to assist with all your travel needs. I look forward to helping anyone who wants to experience travel, you can reach me at superagent@slogull.com. |
